Travelers flying into New England directly will use one of the region’s three main airports: Logan Airport (BOS) in Boston, Massachusetts; Green Airport (PVD) in Providence, Rhode Island; and Bradley International Airport (BDL) in Hartford County, Connecticut. Other New England airports with the most connections to gateways include Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) in New Hampshire, Portland International Jetport (PWM) in Maine and Burlington International Airport (BTV) in Vermont. Highways and byways connect the various points of interest and attractions throughout New England, providing a simple way to explore the awe-inspiring and diverse landscapes. Discover New England by bus or coach, whether you’re traveling from New Hampshire to Massachusetts or from Boston to New York. Megabus services multiple locations; Concord Coach Lines is popular in Maine and New Hampshire, and Vermont Translines services Vermont. Greyhound is also available throughout New England so you can visit all the region’s most popular vacation destinations conveniently and safely.

Travel by Train

See the sights on a high-speed train and traverse New England from a different perspective. Amtrak offers train routes through all the states in the New England region. The Acela Express provides quick travel between New York and Boston, accelerating to speeds of 240 kph. You’ll arrive at your destination in just under four hours. Fun and convenient for the whole family, traveling by train is a unique way to see New England’s popular vacation destinations.

Exploring the Cities

Beyond car rentals, trains and buses, multiple modes of public transportation make getting around New England’s major destinations easy. Ride a trolley or subway in certain locations or head out on foot to see the sights. Boston is known as The Walking City thanks to the Freedom Trail, a self-guided tour through the city’s most historic destinations. Ride-hail apps provide easy access to transportation via local drivers; Uber and Lyft are two of the most popular apps.
